LOFT

Team

LOFT is built by LOFT, founded in 2022 in Berkeley, California by longtime business partners Gary Mundell, CEO, and Remko Noteboom, CTO. We develop production-focused software designed around how creative work is actually made, managed, and delivered.

Gary Mundell, CEO, LOFT

Gary Mundell is Co-Founder and CEO of LOFT, the company behind LOFT. He leads vision, strategy, and product direction, focused on production infrastructure for the AI era - the systems film, VFX, animation, games, commercial, and enterprise teams need to manage next-generation content production, planning, and resources.

Mundell previously served as CEO of Tippett Studio, the visual effects house founded by Phil Tippett, where he drove studio growth and led its AI integration efforts. He continues to collaborate with Tippett on independent productions unaffiliated with the studio.

Before LOFT he co-founded and served as CEO of Southpaw Technology, leading development of TACTIC. Earlier, at Alias|Wavefront, he was on the original development team for Autodesk Maya. His career spans senior creative and production roles at Square USA, Technicolor, Disney, and The Mill, and includes supervising filmed content in India and China. He is a member of the Visual Effects Society.

Remko Noteboom, Co-Founder and CTO, LOFT

Remko Noteboom is Co-Founder and CTO of LOFT and the lead architect of LOFT - an Integrated Production Environment that gives generative AI what it has never had: a durable spine of assets, lineage, and provenance beneath every model a studio chooses.

He brings more than 25 years of software architecture and cross-functional pipeline expertise across media and entertainment, finance, defense, legal, medicine, and consumer products. At LOFT he leads product development strategy and owns the platform’s agent orchestration, production record, and editorial architecture.

Noteboom built Nelnet at Nelvana - the world’s first digital production workflow tool, and the direct precursor to TACTIC - then co-founded Southpaw Technology. His work on Nelnet earned a 2021 Technology & Engineering Emmy Award. He has also held technical roles at CORE Feature Animation and Alias|Wavefront.

Until April 2026 he worked as an AI creative supervisor and engineer with Phil Tippett on his AI-driven feature, Sentinel - an independent collaboration, separate from his work at LOFT. He stepped away to focus full-time on LOFT, and continues to collaborate with Tippett on independent productions.
